I was told initially when I had my book printed that I should be charging a very high price for it. BUT, why??? Why should the price of my book be out of range for anyone? It shouldn’t. I am very happy to sell my book at a very low cost to enable everyone to be able to afford it. I suppose if I had charged $200.00 for it then I might have have more Celebrities buy it instead of the few who support me and who know me me personally.
Most Celebrities I think like to have the bragging rights to things. ‘Oh I just paid so much for this great little thing blah blah blah…’
That would be putting it out of the ordinary person’s price range wouldn’t it? So I say. that is just ridiculous. I am happy to leave the price of the book exactly where it is. Besides that, Celebrities have the money to have the fat sucked out of their bodies. I am not a fan of that exercise and wouldn’t encourage it either.
My book might be unique, one of a kind concept, easy, safe and all the rest but I really don’t want to make it hard for anyone to own their own copy. I find it rather amusing to receive an email or a text msg from a friend, aquaintance or customer and who has just received my book. The first word they type is WOW! It makes me feel proud to have found something so wonderful to share with the world.
I would not however recommend anyone try to write a book and self Publish though. The cost is frightening. It really is a very expensive exercise and because I am available for anyone who has a querie, it is also time consuming. I do like to hear from people and I do give encouragement. Now where do you get that? You purchase a book and that is it. No follow up, no person to person. You just have the book. ugh!
So when you are considering whether or not to purchase my book, just remember I am available for questions, queries and all the rest and if you have any recipes you are quite welcome to add them to the Blog. You might be surprised at who reads them and uses these ideas in their kitchens.
